At Chess4Life, we offer classes at 6 Levels (Pawn through King Level), each with a corresponding curriculum of chess and life skills. Experienced Chess4Life coaches offer Free Assessment Lessons to determine your child's current chess skill along with areas of growth, and then provide personalized practice resources to continue their chess learning! Assessments Lessons are open to new students, as current Chess4Life students have access to their chess coach for progress tracking, personalized feedback, and game review.

Premium Chess Classes
Weekly small-group chess classes are offered in-person in Issaquah, Bellevue, and Renton (WA), as well as online! Each student's progress is tracked individually on a digital Achievement Chart updated regularly by their dedicated chess coach. See rapid progress in your child's chess skills, as well as their focus, planning, and sportsmanship!
Seasonal Chess Camps
School breaks mean extra time for chess and fun! Join an in-person Chess Camp in Bellevue and Issaquah, WA this Winter, Spring, or Summer Break! Upcoming Winter Camps this December include a 1-Day State Qualifier Camp, and 2-Day Themed Openings and Endgames Camps -- Early Registration discounts are available!
Quad Tournaments
Friday Quad Tournaments are offered in-person (Bellevue & Issaquah, WA) as well as online on alternating Fridays -- These 3-round tournaments are perfect for players new to tournaments as well as advanced players! Each player is grouped into a small group with other players of similar skill or rating for 3 NWSRS-rated chess games, ensuring fair opponents!
State Qualifier Tournaments
The WA State Elementary Chess Championship is a huge regional event hosted annually, and all players interested in competing in prestigious sections of the Championship can qualify in a 5-round, NWSRS-rated State Qualifier Tournament! Already qualified? Contribute to your rating and practice skills before the Championship this spring!
A Pawn's Journey
A Pawn’s Journey tells the uplifting story of April, a disheartened teen who is introduced to the game of chess and mentored by a school counselor. Her mindset changes as she learns invaluable life lessons through the game of chess. In this self-help tale based on a true story, readers will learn how to transform their lives one move at a time!
